March 2024

March began with a lovely and edifying conference in Greenville, SC. It was on the topic of Missions, and a wonderful reminder for us all, not to forget those who have not heard of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and the redemption that He offers.

The same friend from church who helped us build the bookshelves above the windows, also helped us build floor to ceiling bookshelves. They turned out great!

John has found endless hours of fun with the chickens. He knows them each by name, and goes outside whenever he can to play with them.

We got our seedlings transplanted, so we now have lettuce, broccoli, kale, and cabbage growing in our garden!

Sadly, it was time for our faithful dairy cow, Daisy, to go to the butcher this month. She was a wonderful cow, and we all have very fond memories of milking her. She and our steer that we’ve been raising went to the butchers, and we’ll pick up the meat in a few weeks.

We also filled our freezers with pork this month. A friend of a family from church raises and processes pork for people, so they raised three pigs for us and we picked up the meat earlier this month. It’s exciting to have the freezers filled with meat again!

Quinn celebrated her 11th birthday on the 18th!

The wildflowers are blooming prolifically! There are no words to describe how beautiful they are this time of year. “Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither tool or spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon was not arrayed like one of these. But if God clothes the grass, which is alive today, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will he clothe you…” ~ Luke 12:27:28
